Mahan & Nash has concluded a four year project with the State of California and the California Humanitarian Foundation for Holocaust Survivors that has distributed $4.2 million to more than 1,500 indigent Holocaust survivors. Beginning in 1998, Mahan & Nash was retained by the California Department of Insurnace to develop a public relations and marketing campaign designed to inform and activate Holocuast survivors throughout the state regarding European insurance companies obligation to resolve and pay unclaimed Holocaust-era insurance policies. The firm developed a comprehensive strategy that included creation of a statewide alliance of more than 30 organizations, design and implementation of an international advertising program, and execution of a media campaign involving press conferences with the Governor and State Insurance Commissioner, public hearings, media story placement, and meetings with editorial boards.
